Here is the rest of our conversation with Pastor Travis Linn. Last week we discussed Excellerate Youth, the non-profit that Travis was a part of starting. This week we go a little bit off the rails and talk tattoos, some cultural and political issues within the church, and reminisce about the times when Nik and Jorde were interns together at Relevant Life Church working with Pastor Travis. After the last handful of months with Kanye making the news under less than ideal circumstances, we decided it was worth doing a follow-up episode. We discuss what we feel to be appropriate responses to Kanye, and as usual, we drifted down the rabbit trail and talked about celebrity pastors, the importance of rest (and specifically resting well).

We also took some time to listen back to our old episode. This isn't coming from a place of correcting what we said before, we stand by what was said in the past. We just know that it is worth going back and readdressing the conversation.

He gives a few tips and tricks to making friends at church, but also shares some deeper thoughts as to why it is so valuable to those questioning their faith, new believers, and "seasoned vets" of the church world. Jorde enjoyed some time preparing a sermon for youth group this week and decided to share some of what he was thinking with the listeners this week! Give it a listen, read Romans 3 (also probably 1 and 2 for context) and open up a conversation with someone about what you've learned! 

We are back after a couple of months being at home with the baby (Jorde) and playing Spikeball at 3am every day through the summer (Nik). The boys are excited to share some unexpected life-updates from the last time we recorded. Give it a listen and buckle up for a new season! 

Jorde and Nik sat down over a cup of coffee at one of their favorite coffee shops before work this last week to discuss all things Fatherhood and the spiritual (and super not spiritual) aspects of being a new dad! 

With Russia invading Ukraine over the last week our hearts have been heavy for so many innocent lives, those who have lost their lives, and so many more living in fear or living on the run. Nik and Jorde are far from experts, but they wanted to put together a few thoughts as to what we can be praying about with the information that we have at the time of this recording. 

This one has been sitting on the burner for a little while.. Our bad! However, we are excited to bring the next episode of our Colossians series! As you'd expect, right in the midst of nonsense, Nik and Jorde break down their interpretation of the second portion of Paul's letter to Colossae. 

Nik and Jorde return with a "banger!" With a last minute interview rain check, Nik saved the day with the idea to discuss the good and possible bad of deconstructing your faith. It is also a GREAT introduction into our next conversation when we are able to fulfill our rain check.

Hi y'all! We keep promising to be more consistent with podcasting, and here we are, still so inconsistent. However, there is good reason for that! Many life updates on both sides of the conversation, and as always, there are many laughs and even a few tears along the way.

Aaron does a great job describing all of the good and strange changes that they have had to make this fall as students are coming back into town. This week Jorde and Nik discuss Kanye West, horror movies, and Chili season. Do we like Kanye's music? Are horror movies ever actually worth it? Is there a time of year that Chili is best? Only God knows, but we do our best to come to a conclusion! 

Now that's what I call evangelism! Jorde and Nik discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly with regards to sharing the love of Jesus. We also talk about camping, cereal, and Jorde finishes his teaser story from the Pilot. 

In this weeks episode we talk about how we have experienced hearing God's voice, what makes us confident it is God's voice, and even a little bit about how lies Satan tries to tell us. Don't fret, though, because in true Nik and Jorde fashion, we couldn't stay serious the whole time!
